I wish the author wouldn't have generalized some of his complaints so much because unfortunately what comes out more is a passionate emotional response rather than a steady rational one. That doesn't make some of his statement less or un-true.

What I'm hoping (but not holding my breath) is that people who are planning to vote will see the complexity of the issues involved and therefore not be a one-issue voter, yet also be realistic to realize that the President can't unilaterally make wholesale changes to our country (fortunately!).

This goes both ways from realizing Obama won't have the control to pull out the troops on day 1 and bring a miraculous hope back to America nor Hillary Clinton snap her fingers and bring health care to everyone as her first order of business as President. (Of course, she already tried that once, and it didn't work then...) Nor can John McCain automagically get the tax-cuts renewed permanently and complete an immigration bill that he and his fellow "13" senators would like.

But this is the first presidential election that I will not be be using the (R) to guide me. And quite honestly I meant to change my party so I could vote in the (D) primaries since the (R) primaries meant little to the (R) party.

But while I'm not using a party affiliation to guide my vote, I'm not necessarily using God, morality, or biblical influence either. Because it's not the role of the government to support Christians or God and especially morality. It's us as a community that is responsible for that; us as churches within the community; and us as Christians as neighbors. The government should be as small as possible. It's the organizations built within the community that should be large and supportive.

Cheers,
TimAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06007744289908702383noreply@blogger.com
